Choosing the right packaging for your product is no simple task. But we have a guide on best packaging practices so you can ensure low costs, smoother transaction and a protected shipment!

SHIPMENT PREPARATION DO’s

  • Use sturdy packaging

Select a strong box, poly bag, or kraft mailer in good condition. Seal it securely to protect your items during transit.

  • Apply the correct label size (4 x 6")

Carriers only accept 4 x 6" labels. Shipments with incorrect sizes may be rejected.

  • Double-check dimensions before printing.
  • Ensure barcodes are clear, legible, and free of smudges or ink bleeding.
  • Avoid covering barcodes with tape.

Add internal cushioning

  • Protect items with bubble wrap, foam inserts, or paper shreds to prevent damage. Cushioning is especially important for fragile or delicate products.

Place labels correctly

  • On poly bags: Attach the label front and center, ensuring the barcode is unobstructed.
  • On kraft mailers: Position the label clearly without covering the barcode.
  • On boxes: Place the label on the largest, flattest surface for easy scanning and smooth processing.

Mark fragile shipments appropriately

  • Any parcel containing liquids or breakable items must be labeled with “Fragile” stickers.

  •  ⚠️ Please do not use packaging marked as “Fragile” or packaging displaying hazardous symbols for non-fragile or non-dangerous goods. Using these markings incorrectly can cause unnecessary shipment flagging, manual inspections, or delays.

A friendly reminder that Stallion does not ship hazardous goods.

Extra Tips

  • First impressions matter: A clean, well-sealed box reflects professionalism and reassures customers.
  • Avoid delays: Incorrect label placement or sizing can cause your shipment to be held or rejected.

  • Add protection: For additional peace of mind, you may add Stallion Protection for coverage against shipment damage or loss.
