What Does Voiding a Label Mean?
Voiding a label cancels a purchased shipping label so that the postage cost is refunded as credits to your Stallion account. This is useful when an order is cancelled, an address needs to change, or you purchased the wrong label.
The 21-Day Void Window
Tracked labels can be void-requested for up to 21 days after purchase. After 21 days, the label expires and no refund is available.
This window applies from the date the label was purchased — not the date the package was supposed to ship.
How to Request a Void
- Go to Shipments
- Select the order or orders you want to void
- Click Other
- Select Request Void
You can void multiple labels at once by selecting them before clicking Request Void.
What Happens After You Request a Void
Once you submit a void request:
- The shipment status changes to Void Requested
- The carrier verifies that the label was never scanned or used
- If confirmed unused, the postage is refunded as account credits within 14 days
- The shipment status changes to Voided
If the carrier determines the label was scanned or used, the void request is denied and no refund is issued.
USPS First Class Mail (Non-Tracked)
USPS First Class Mail labels are non-tracked and cannot be voided after purchase. No refund is available for these labels once they are purchased.
After 21 Days — Postage Expired
If a tracked label was never used and 21 days have passed since purchase, the status automatically changes to Postage Expired. At this point:
- The label is no longer valid for shipping
- No void request can be submitted
- No refund is available
Good to know: Void requests are not instant — the carrier must confirm the label was never scanned before credits are returned. Plan ahead if you need the credits for new labels.
