US Returns: Getting Packages Back from the US

How to request a return from Stallion's US facility back to Canada — including CRA importer number, CARM registration, and the full process from arrival to delivery.

What this article covers

US customers return goods to Stallion’s US return facility first. You then request shipment back to Canada for pickup at a Stallion location. Commercial re-entry requires importer and CBSA registration on file.

Before you start: CRA importer number and CARM

CRA importer number (business number with import/export program) identifies you as the importer. Apply through the CRA if you do not have one, then add it in Stallion account settings.

CARM (CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management) registration is required for commercial imports, including returned merchandise. Register via the CBSA CARM Client Portal using your CRA business number.

Good to know: CARM can take several business days. Finish registration before your first US return batch.

Step 1: Run the US return flow in Returns

  1. Give the customer your Stallion US return address from Returns in the sidebar.
  2. After the carrier delivers to the US facility, the return appears in your Returns list.
  3. Open the return and choose Request Return to Canada when you are ready to bring it back.
  4. Stallion consolidates with other Canada-bound returns where possible.
  5. Pick up the package at your assigned Stallion pickup location when it is ready.

High volume tips

  • Check Returns often so nothing sits unrequested.
  • Filter by Action Required to prioritize decisions.
  • Batch Request Return to Canada when you have several packages — consolidation is usually cheaper than one-off requests.
  • Keep CARM and importer details current to avoid customs holds.

Good to know: Batching requests reduces per-piece handling overhead compared to requesting each package alone.
