How the wallet works
Stallion uses a prepaid wallet system. Every time you purchase a label or use a paid service, the cost is deducted from your wallet balance. You need to maintain a positive balance to continue shipping. If your balance reaches zero, you will not be able to purchase new labels until you add more credits.
Go to Billing → Payment to manage your balance and payment methods.
Step 1: Open the Payment tab in Billing
From the Payment tab, you can:
- Add credits to your wallet
- Save or remove payment methods
- Choose a default payment method
- Turn auto-refill on or off
- Redeem supported coupons or credits
This is your central hub for all billing activity. Your current wallet balance is displayed at the top of the page so you always know how much credit you have available.
Adding credits
To add funds to your wallet:
- Click Add Credit on the Payment tab.
- Select a saved payment method from the dropdown. If you have not saved a payment method yet, you will be prompted to add one first.
- Enter the amount you would like to add. The minimum credit amount is $25.
- Review the details and click Confirm to complete the transaction.
The credits are applied to your wallet immediately after the payment is processed. You will see your updated balance reflected on the Payment tab right away.
Good to know: If you ship frequently, consider adding a larger amount at once to avoid having to top up before every batch of labels.
Auto-refill
Auto-refill keeps your wallet funded automatically so you never run out of credits in the middle of a shipping session. Instead of manually adding funds each time, you set rules and the system handles the rest.
To configure auto-refill:
- Go to Billing → Payment and locate the auto-refill settings.
- Set a threshold balance — this is the minimum wallet balance that triggers a refill. When your balance drops below this amount, the system initiates an automatic top-up.
- Set a refill amount — this is the dollar amount that will be charged to your payment method each time auto-refill is triggered.
- Choose a payment method — select which saved card or payment method should be used for automatic charges.
- Toggle auto-refill on to activate it.
When your wallet balance falls below the threshold you set, the system automatically charges the refill amount to your chosen payment method and adds the credits to your wallet. For example, if you set a threshold of $50 and a refill amount of $200, any time your balance drops below $50 the system will charge $200 and bring your balance back up.
Good to know: Make sure the payment method linked to auto-refill is kept up to date. If the charge fails, your wallet will not be topped up and you may be unable to purchase labels until you add credits manually.
Payment methods
Use the payment-method area to manage how you pay for credits:
- Add a card — save a credit or debit card for future credit purchases and auto-refill.
- Set a default method — the default payment method is pre-selected whenever you add credits or when auto-refill runs.
- Remove an old method — delete a card you no longer use, when permitted.
Good to know: Some payment-method actions may be limited if the method was used recently for account transactions.
Linking PayPal
PayPal can be linked as an alternative payment method if your account supports it. To connect PayPal:
- Go to Billing → Payment and click the option to link PayPal.
- You will be redirected to PayPal to log in and authorize the connection.
- After you approve the authorization on PayPal's site, you will be returned to Stallion and PayPal will appear as a saved payment method.
Once linked, you can select PayPal when adding credits or set it as your default payment method, just like a saved card.
Failed payments
If a payment fails when you try to add credits or when auto-refill attempts to charge your card, your wallet balance will remain unchanged and no credits will be added. A notification will appear on screen to let you know the payment was not successful.
Common causes of failed payments include:
- Expired card — the card on file has passed its expiration date.
- Insufficient funds — the card or bank account does not have enough available balance to cover the charge.
- Bank decline — the issuing bank declined the transaction for security or policy reasons.
To resolve a failed payment, go to Billing → Payment and update your payment method with current card details, or try a different card. If auto-refill failed, it will attempt to charge again the next time your balance drops below the threshold, so updating your payment method promptly will prevent any interruption to your shipping.
